Foreign media arrive for North Korea nuclear test site closing

US, South Korea Presidents to Discuss Threat to Scrap Trump-Kim Summit North Korea summit: Pence warns Kim Jong-un not to 'play Trump'

"If the summit is cancelled and North Korea doesn't want to work with us in good faith to make it a win-win, then we're going to have a conflict between Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un, and Trump will win".

Meanwhile, South Korean President Moon Jae-in has departed for Washington to hold talks with his United States counterpart and meet with high-ranking administration officials responsible for foreign policy and security issues.

But the North's abrupt sharpening of its words has raised concerns the Trump summit may prove to be a bumpy one - or that it could even be in jeopardy.

Trump encouraged Kim to seize the opportunity for the meeting and to make a deal to abandon his nuclear program, pledging not only to guarantee Kim's personal security, but also predicting an economic revitalization for the North.

Last week, Trump told reporters at the White House that the Kim was possibly being influenced by China after two recent visits he made there. The two are slated to hold a 30-minute one-on-one meeting with only their translators, followed by a almost 90-minute expanded meeting with additional staffers, according to an administration official.

ZTE exemption is a 'favor' to Chinese leader
Still, President Donald Trump framed the weekend's talks as a clear victory for the U.S. Mnuchin is "promising to win something already happening. the U.S.is folding again".

South Korean President Moon Jae-in is in Washington to meet with Trump to reassure him the direct talks with North Korea can still be the success, amid growing skepticism over the North's seriousness about denuclearization. "The high-level meeting with Seoul, canceled last week over the South Korean-US joint military drills dubbed Max Thunder, would have been useless at least as far as basic issues go". It also threatened to pull out of a summit with US President Donald Trump, scheduled for June 12 in Singapore. And some in the administration are skeptical that the summit will take place at all.

In the United States, Trump's approval ratings have been fairly low for much of his presidency.

Not only is this premature, but it's exactly the sort of legitimacy Kim Jong Un was hoping for out of this dumpster fire of an idea.

But the meeting has already hit diplomatic bumps.

Asked about North Korea's about-face, Mr Chung said on Monday: "We're trying to understand the situation from the North's perspective".

Rumours also suggest Apple is developing a cheaper version of the speaker, much like the Amazon Echo Dot and the Google Home Mini. Google, who is expanding into new markets in recent months with the Google Home lineup takes the second place at 26.5%.

Trump hasn't always been on such friendly terms with South Korea.

"It's hard to have a really good and strong relationship with the leader of a country who you think is totally screwing you", the former administration official said. "His objective is to narrow the gap, if any, on the scope, contents, methods, and timing of denuclearizing North Korea" between Trump and Kim, he said. "President Trump should win the Nobel Peace Prize". He added if they aren't met, "we won't have the meeting".

I think the coin does a great job of capturing Trump's waddle. "Moon Jae-in can't afford failure here".

South Korea finds it "disappointing and regrettable" that its eight journalists invited to attend this week's dismantling of North Korea's nuclear test site are not being allowed to attend after all, according to a statement from Seoul's Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon Tuesday.

"Moon will be nearly desperate to have the summit go through and be declared a success regardless of content because he would be so anxious about talk of a return to war, which really traumatized the South Koreans previous year", said Michael Green, who served as senior director for Asian affairs on the National Security Council during the George W. Bush administration.
