Tim Cook told Trump China tariffs were the wrong move

The chief executive of Apple has urged President Trump to reconsider his threats to impose tariffs on Chinese products worth $150 billion.

"I think it's important that we don't all get Stockholm Syndrome and let the companies that work hard to charge you more convince you that they actually care more about you", Zuckerberg said in April.

Apple produces most of its products in China and lists both the U.S. and China among its three largest markets.

Cook's remarks came during an upcoming televised interview with Bloomberg Television, pieces of which were previewed today.

Kia 48V Mild-Hybrid Diesel powertrain rolling out THIS year
If the battery has sufficient charge, the combustion engine turns off automatically during in-gear deceleration and braking. And because the 48V battery connects to the car's on-board power supply it means a smaller 12v battery and starter motor.

Ahead of the meeting, Trump tweeted that he and Cook would discuss "many things, including how the US has been treated unfairly for many years, by many countries, on trade".

Cook has previously said that because Apple profits from selling its products rather than user information, his company is safe from privacy scandals like the one dogging Facebook.

By invoking social responsibility, a topic that resonates with the under-30 demographic, Cook is taking Apple's approach directly to younger workers and customers. "It's good for the economy as well because if people sell stock they pay taxes on their gains".

This comment echoed with this year's Facebook data controversy, which Cook heavily criticized after it was revealed that political data analytics firm Cambridge Analytica was able to breach into the data and information of almost 90 million Facebook users.

Apple's push into subscription services is continuing at a brisk pace, with CEO Tim Cook confirming that the Apple Music service has surpassed 50 million subscribers as the company prepares to launch a video service.

If Apple Music's growth remains on this trajectory - which shows the service adding around 4 million paid members a month since at least January 2018 - Apple will be on track to reach 60 million paid users by the holiday season.

Last month Apple also announced the promotion of Oliver Schusser to lead Apple Music Worldwide. "We are very interested in the content business. But it's clearly an area of interest".
