Facebook is cleaning up and non-core apps are the first to go.

Facebook has announced it is shutting down its fitness app "Moves", Android app "Hello" and anonymous social media app "tbh". The app lets users combine information from Facebook into their contacts list.

Finally there's Hello: an Android dialer only available in Brazil, Nigeria and the United States. The app was only available in the U.S. and allowed teens to share opinions on things and on each other anonymously.

Moves, which Facebook bought in 2014, was an activity app for "fitness tracking without gadgets", instead monitoring walking, cycling and running using sensors and Global Positioning System data from your phone. This probably will be the one that will disappoint the most people.

Moves is a fitness application which records users' daily activity.

The app was later acquired by Facebook in 2017 and is expected to be put to rest in the coming weeks. Users loves its simple design and ease of use as well as its accuracy. Apple awarded the app its coveted "Editors Choice" ranking. But it seems that was not enough and the app will be discontinued. But we need to prioritize our work so we don't spread ourselves too thin. It's only by trial and error, Facebook says, that they'll create great social experiences for people. The reason for closing all three apps was "low usage".

Facebook has faced much criticism lately for its handling of personal data. If you haven't heard of those three, you're not alone - Facebook has made a decision to can them due to lack of use.

"Tbh and Facebook share a common goal of building community and enabling people to share in ways that bring us closer together", a Facebook spokesperson said at the time of the acquisition.
