A 92-year-old woman accused of fatally shooting her 72-year-old son over his plans to put her in an assisted living facility has been arrested on suspicion of murder, police said on Tuesday.

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, around 10 a.m., deputies responded to a call of an unknown trouble at a home near Palisades and Saguaro boulevards.

The 72-year-old victim had told his mother that he wanted to sent her to an assisted-living home and Anna Mae Blessing considered what he'd said for a few days, police said.

She concealed two pistols in the pockets of her robe before confronting her son in his bedroom and firing multiple shots at him with one handgun, records show.

When Blessing pulled out the second gun in her possession, her son's girlfriend knocked it out of her hand before calling deputies.

The girlfriend then notified MCSO. She was taken into custody without incident, the sheriff's office said. Blessing is being held on $500,000 cash-only bond.

"As the suspect was being escorted from the residence, she made a spontaneous statement to the effect of 'You took my life, so I'm taking yours,"' court documents read".

The sheriff's office said they are investigating the case as a domestic violence homicide.

That means the DirecTV Now packages that currently cost $35, $50, $60, and $70 a month will go up to $40, $55, $65, and $75. AT&T confirmed the price increase to Ars Technica and said it began informing customers of the increase this past weekend.

Police arrested Blessing and charged her with murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and kidnapping. "They are often isolated and neither predictable nor preventable". Blessing reportedly also claimed that she meant to kill herself after, but didn't have any other weapons.

Blessing told investigators the last time she fired either handgun was the 1970s.

When Blessing was asked what she thinks should happen to her, she replied she should be "put to sleep" as a result of her actions.
