On offer is an Australian-only edition featuring the Queen wearing a wattle brooch - a gift from former Prime Minister Robert Menzies - and a pin with the Australian coat of arms.

Under the little-known "constituents' request program" voters can receive images of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh as well as national flags and recordings of the national anthem, just by asking their federal member.

While the law has been criticised in the past for not being the best use of taxpayers money, Mr Watts said he often gives out Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags - which makes it worthwhile for the community.

In the past, there has been backlash over the initiative, with former Green leader Bob Brown slamming the portraits in parliament in 2012. "However, if there are members opposite who can not find a picture of Her Majesty, I would be happy to provide them with one". Those pushing for Australia to become a republic failed to win a national referendum on the question in 1999.
