Jamie Carragher says Philippe Coutinho could help Liverpool win the league

Ex footballer Paul Merson enjoying day two of the Cheltenham Festival at Cheltenham Racecourse Klopp: We are the Rocky to City's Drago

While City have not spent as much as Liverpool in this window, they have been among the biggest spenders in the English top-flight for a few years now and a majority of their squad looks likely to remain the same in the years to come.

Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Raul Jimenez has told The Sun that Liverpool were his Premier League team. We beat Manchester City in the league and the Champions League last season, so I think we can win everything in the world.

"I know that Salah was [thought] a good deal for Roma, but now people say it is a good deal for Liverpool".

"We are the ones who have to do more, fight more, and that must be our attitude. We try to help him all the time in training, he is a great boy, but I do not talk to him every day about how he can score more than last season".

"The plan is that we really go for it (the Premier League)".

Halep, Stephens into Montreal final
The 15th-seeded Barty won 80% of her first serve points and broke Bertens four times as she cruised to victory. Open title defense, beat fifth-seeded Elina Svitolina 6-3, 6-3. "I was very sore when I woke up", said Halep.

"I'm not saying this is the year but I am saying that, 100 per cent, they will compete for the title".

"I think we now have the quality".

West Ham head to Anfield on the back of four wins and two draws from their last six friendlies and, if the new boys can gel when the real stuff starts, a promising campaign awaits.

One of Klopp's big early statements came in the 4-1 win at Pellegrini's City in November 2015 and Liverpool won the Anfield fixture 3-0 the following March. I thought about it for the preseason, but now we have to be in this championship mood.

Jurgen Klopp revealed on Friday morning that Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan are both out of the weekend's game while fellow centre-halves Joe Gomez and Joel Matip will be assessed at Melwood. "Guardiola's side can't keep repeating the freakishly brilliant performance of last season, but such is the standard set, anyone with aspirations of catching them must secure at least 90 points".

He was at 3-over par for the second round through nine holes and 4 over for the tournament, putting him in a tie for 111th. He finally made one at No. 10 and came back with still another birdie at No. 11 before play was suspended for the day.

"We ask if it is a risk - and if it is a risk, do we take it?"

"I can play in many positions up front and that is positive for the coach".

"[They] are all in a different shape".

"We have to be more consistent", Klopp said.

"Trent has had longer, which is good", he said.

Tottenham stands pat during a busy Premier League transfer window
For these leagues the transfer window does not end until the end of the month and spending can be expected to continue. The move however irked Guardiola who labelled Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis' decision as unprofessional.
