ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Thursday - the day of the Patriots' preseason opener - that the Patriots will be adding some incentives to Brady's contract in order to likely raise his salary to something more commensurate with other National Football League quarterbacks.

Nintendo Switch Online Launches in the Second Half of September, Nintendo Announces
Expect to hear more about Nintendo Switch Online soon in the coming weeks, probably first at Gamescom which is 15 days away. Mario, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Donkey Kong are confirmed for launch - alongside 10 still unannounced titles.

The incentives could total $5 million.

With the 2018 season rapidly approaching, and with Tom Brady entering his age 41 season, the quarterback and the team are close to settling some changes to his contract.

Yerry Mina relishing Everton challenge
The 25-year-old began his career at Benfica, with his career highlight being a European Championship win with Portugal in 2016. Gomes joined Barcelona from Valencia in 2016 for (£31.46) €35m but has struggled to nail down a starting place at the Nou Camp.

That was one of the bigger takeaways from the team's 26-17 victory over the Washington Redskins at Gillette Stadium, a game in which the Patriots' top units (minus Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Devin McCourty and a few others) showed they have a long way to go before the September 9 season-opener.

While Brady has taken the field for Week 1 of the preseason in the past, the 41-year-old resided on the sidelines for the entirety of the Patriots' 26-17 victory over the Redskins.

U.S. to impose sanctions on Russian Federation over nerve attack in UK
The new USA sanctions would cover sensitive national-security controlled goods, a senior State Department official told reporters. The announcement of U.S. sanctions caused the value of the rouble to plunge early on Thursday and Russian stock markets to fall.

Brady can earn up to $20 million this season, once the incentives are finalized. He's only the 16th-highest-paid quarterback in the National Football League in terms of average annual value, per Over the Cap, but the incentives will bring him closer to his peers in the market.
