Judge Brett Kavanaugh broke his silence Friday regarding Sen.

Kavanaugh, 53, "categorically and unequivocally" denied the allegations.

In the meantime, 65 women who have known Kavanaugh since his high school years signed a letter addressed to both Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley and Feinstein affirming Kavanaugh's good character.

In 1991, Anita Hill testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee claiming Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas sexually harassed her when she worked with him at the Education Department and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

In the letter, the woman alleged that, during an encounter at a party, Kavanaugh held her down, and that he attempted to force himself on her. All three were minors at the time.

ABC News has reached out to Debra Katz, a lawyer identified by Buzzfeed as counsel to the woman who has come forward with the allegation but received no response.

Feinstein was preparing to lead Democratic questioning of Kavanaugh during his confirmation hearing. Dianne Feinstein since July, but it only recently surfaced.

Read the full story at Fox News. The letter noted that the signatories included women from "a broad range of political views".

"We are women who have known Brett Kavanaugh for more than 35 years and knew him while he attended high school between 1979 and 1983", wrote the women, who said a lot of them had attended all-girl high schools in the area. In particular, he has always treated women with decency and respect.

Rescued families were delivered to shelters, where approximately 20,000 people across the state were housed on Saturday. The White House said yesterday President Donald Trump had approved making federal funding available in some counties.

Feinstein has received criticism for her handling of the issue, including from Kevin de León, the Democratic state senator challenging her in her re-election bid.

Questions swirled on Thursday when Feinstein declined to explain what information she was provided about Kavanaugh that she made a decision to share with authorities.

The woman accusing Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct has not come forward publicly. Democrats were concerned that if they failed to pass along any information about the allegation, they would be accused of a cover-up.

"The American people deserve to know who Judge Kavanaugh is, but Republicans are trying to rush through this nomination while concealing critical parts of the nominee's record", he added in another tweet. The Senator took these allegations seriously and believed they should be public. Feinstein has give the letter to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

This has all the indicators of an 11th hour character assassination and a desperate attempt to delay and defeat the nomination of Judge Kavanaugh, who has a sterling reputation in his community, his profession, his church and among hundreds of friends, colleagues and co-workers. Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski go against the party line. The call was already scheduled before the allegation emerged and Collins' office declined to provide any details about their discussion. Ginsburg was confirmed in two months by a vote of 96-to-3.
