Kemi Adeosun, the finance minister until yesterday, in her letter of resignation to President Muhammadu Buhari responded for the first time officially to the allegation of forging the NYSC exemption certificate, by expressing profound shock.
The Daily Trust reports that Adeosun resigned on Friday, but not sure when the minister submitted her resignation letter.
Adeosun had come under fire with several Nigerians, particularly on the social media, demanding investigations from the Federal Government into the allegations and calling for her resignation for presenting an alleged forged exemption certificate.
This was contained in a statement by Femi Adesina, presidential spokesman.
Mrs Adeosun is the second minister to resign from President Buhari's cabinet. Adeosun did not comment on the claims initially, prompting criticism from her opponents.
