Kemi Adeosun, the finance minister until yesterday, in her letter of resignation to President Muhammadu Buhari responded for the first time officially to the allegation of forging the NYSC exemption certificate, by expressing profound shock.

The Daily Trust reports that Adeosun resigned on Friday, but not sure when the minister submitted her resignation letter.

Adeosun had come under fire with several Nigerians, particularly on the social media, demanding investigations from the Federal Government into the allegations and calling for her resignation for presenting an alleged forged exemption certificate.

Tracking Hurricane Florence as it bears down on U.S. East Coast
The American government is ready to deal with the aftermath of the hurricane but people should get out of the way, Trump said. Emergency declarations were in force in Georgia, South and North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.

This was contained in a statement by Femi Adesina, presidential spokesman.

Mrs Adeosun is the second minister to resign from President Buhari's cabinet. This perhaps explains why President Buhari has not relieved his Special Assistant on Prosecution and Chairman of the Special Investigative Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, Chief Okoi Obono-Obla of his appointment in spite of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) confirmation that he forged his Secondary School Certificate. Adeosun did not comment on the claims initially, prompting criticism from her opponents.

She said, "having never worked in NYSC, visited the premises, been privy to nor familiar with their operations, I had no reason to suspect that the certificate was anything but genuine".
