US newspaper publishes 'last piece' by Khashoggi Saudi Arabia 'Coincidentally' Wires $100 Million To U.S. Amid Khashoggi Controversy

The US has asked Turkey for a recording said to provide strong evidence that missing Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi was killed at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

Mr Khashoggi, a 60-year-old Saudi dissident and USA resident, visited the consulate on 2 October to obtain papers needed to get married.

Turkish officials have said Saudi agents killed and dismembered Khashoggi, while Saudi officials say he walked out of the consulate on his own.

Several US media outlets said Monday that the Saudis are preparing a report that Khashoggi's death resulted from a botched interrogation, but there has yet to be any sign of this being published.

Khashoggi, a former Saudi insider who became critical of Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, wrote articles for titles including the Washington Post.

"Arab governments have been given free rein to continue silencing the media at an increasing rate", Khashoggi wrote.

Biden says Trump "seems to have a love affair with autocrats"
You wait until the investigation's finished. "You wait till it's finished, and let's see what it has to say". When asked about Democrats impeaching Trump, he said this: "I hope they don't".

Saudi Arabia, which denies the killing, allowed investigators inside overnight. "Do this outside. You will put me in trouble", he reportedly told the team.

"The UK remains very concerned about Jamal Khashoggi's disappearance".

Khashoggi called for the creation of an "independent worldwide forum" to allow ordinary people in the Arab world to address "the structural problems" their societies face.

Judge Andrew Napolitano said the Trump administration may have to take drastic action after the suspected murder of a USA legal resident by Saudi agents in Turkey.

The chilling details of what is believed by some to have occurred at the Saudi consulate in Ankara were revealed by a senior Turkish official who described the content of an audio recording to the New York Times.

Trump said Wednesday he wants audio and video intelligence from Turkey, "if it exists".

Saudi officials have insisted Mr Khashoggi left the consulate soon afterwards and came to no harm.

In a note affixed to the top of the column, Post Global Opinions editor Karen Attiah said she received the essay from Mr Khashoggi's translator and assistant a day after he was reported missing. "We'll find out, we'll get down to the bottom of it", Trump said of the Saudi investigation.

On Tuesday, G7 foreign ministers called for Saudi Arabia to conduct a "transparent" investigation into the issue.

According to the latest reports, the Saudi journalist was assassinated by a squad that included agents tied to Prince Mohammed, a son of King Salman and a lynchpin in the trend toward ever-tightening relations with Trump's White House.

Khashoggi in the past said he always considered himself a patriot, viewing his criticism of the Saudi government as a sign of his love for Saudi Arabia and a desire for conditions there to improve.

Worldwide leaders and business executives are severing or rethinking ties to the Saudi government after Khashoggi's high-profile disappearance.
