President Donald Trump said on Monday he doesn't believe his own government's report warning of massive economic losses if carbon emissions continue to feed climate change unchecked.

Lacking the legal authority to quash the report, the Trump administration released it on what is notoriously one of the slowest news days of the year, when Americans are out shopping.

The actual cost of global warming was one of its biggest and most worrisome takeaways from the report.

The report, written with the help of more than a dozen United States government agencies and departments, said the effects of climate change would harm human health, damage infrastructure, limit water availability, alter coastlines and increase costs in various industries. Nonetheless, DeLay accused the government of confirmation bias while arguing that human impact on climate shifts is "not widely accepted" science.

The world's scientists agree that the climate is changing rapidly and the report predicts the Midwest will be most impacted by increased temperatures, resulting in 2,000 premature deaths by 2090. "It's flawed, it's ridiculous, and frankly, embarrassing".

Mr Trump said outside the White House on Monday that he had seen the report and "read some of it".

The report, called the National Climate Assessment, was quietly released the day after Thanksgiving.

The President's views on man-made climate change has been rather consistent prior to and throughout his tenure.

The report, which was written before California's recent deadly fires, also says the last few years have smashed records for damaging weather in the USA, costing almost $400 billion since 2015.

Report co-author Katharine Hayhoe says it shows the unsafe weather that scientists said will happen in the United States is already happening.

Trump's comments on Friday were not all that surprising given the president's past rhetoric on climate change.

Mahut and Herbert took the last set 7-6 to claim France's first victory in the tie and halve the Croatians advantage. Dodig and Pavic saved three match points in the 10th game, but finally failed to move further in the tiebreak.

The report is mandated by law every few years and is based on hundreds of previously research studies.

The report goes on to detail the economic impact of climate change (hundreds of billions lost, with farms being hardest hit) and the physical toll it could take on our collective health, as factors like air quality, disease transmission by insects, food and water will 'increasingly threaten the health and well-being of the American people'.

"Low-income communities and some communities of color are often already overburdened with poor environmental conditions and are disproportionately affected by, and less resilient to, the health impacts of climate change", the report stated.

The report avoids proposing policy changes. But it said that people must take steps to stop future weather disasters "to avoid substantial damages to the USA economy, environment, and human health and well-being over the coming decades".

Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kansas, said the Senate Agriculture Committee, which he chairs, would likely hold a hearing on the report's findings in the near future.
