HMD Global that makes and sells Nokia phones has launched Nokia 8.1 in its value flagship smartphone line-up with "PureDisplay" screen technology at an event here.

The Nokia 8.1 is an excellent mid-range smartphone from the Finnish company as it sports Nokia' signature design and capable hardware. The Nokia 8.1's display also comes with a 96-percent NTSC color gamut, DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR video playback, 1500:1 contrast ratio and 500nits of brightness. The display also offers a notch and comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The Nokia 8.1 has an Average Retail Price of 399 euros (approx Rs 31,900).

In the camera department, the Nokia 7.1 features a dual-rear camera setup with a primary 12MP sensor paired with a 5MP depth unit.

It will be driven by a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 710 chipset and will pack a 3,400mAh battery and should ship with Android 9 Pie as part of the Android one program.
