The President's latest offer, which he is set to deliver from the White House Saturday at 4 p.m. ET, will link his demand for $5.7 billion for a border wall to the BRIDGE Act, legislation that would extend protections for so-called "Dreamers", undocumented immigrants who arrived in the United States as children and are covered by the DACA program.

Axios reported that President Trump "plans to use remarks from the Diplomatic Reception Room on Saturday afternoon to propose a notable immigration compromise, according to sources familiar with the speech".

Meanwhile, several recent polls have shown that a majority of Americans blame Trump for the partial shutdown after the U.S. president left a meeting earlier this month with Pelosi when the House speaker said she wouldn't discuss border wall funding even if he reopened the government.

"He's offering an extension of DACA protections and TPS when he's the one that ended both of those programs, even though DACAs still running thanks to the courts".

Prior to the address and responding to reports on Trump's decision to offer temporary relief to undocumented migrants residing in the U.S. in exchange for wall funding, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that the move to reopen the government was a "non-starter".

They had no answer for Mahomes or the speedy Tyreek Hill, who torched the Patriots secondary for 140 yards and two touchdowns. As USA Today 's Andy Nesbitt put it on Thursday, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady "has been to what feels like 90 Super Bowls".

The plan would fill his $5.7 billion budget request for the border wall, in exchange for temporary protection for more than one million immigrants.

"There is no amnesty in the president's plan and there is no pathway to citizenship", Vice President Mike Pence told reporters at the White House, minutes after Mr. Trump laid out his proposal in an address from the Oval Office. Ahead of the President's speech, Democratic senator, Richard Durbin of IL, says Trump's proposal is unacceptable. According to data from Doctors Without Borders, 68.3% of migrants and refugees "entering Mexico reported being victims of violence during their transit toward the United States", and almost one-third of women said they'd been sexually abused.

"It is unlikely that any one of these provisions alone would pass the House, and taken together, they are a non-starter", Pelosi said in a statement.

Schumer, a New York Democrat, called the proposal "more hostage taking".

Indeed, so far the reaction from Democratic leaders suggests they will try to rally their troops to resist the plan, saying it gives Mr. Trump what he wants on border security, while not going far enough to help illegal immigrants.

Following the president's address, I call on Speaker Pelosi and Democrats in Congress to finally come to the negotiating table to protect our border and end the partial government shutdown.

"It was, I think, an effort to prop up the president's sagging poll numbers".

Meanwhile, some conservative voices also condemned President Trump's proposal.

Ahead of the announcement, many Democrats responded with a similar refrain: First, open the government, which is in the 29th day of a record-breaking partial shutdown. Leaders insisted Trump needs to open the government before beginning any negotiations over border security or barrier funding. It will be hard for the measure to get 60 votes needed to survive in the Senate, and it seems certain to die in the House.

After days of bitter clashes between Trump and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, it was unclear if the twin developments represented serious steps toward resolving the fight. It has the full support of the President and could be signed into law to quickly reopen the government.

The highest snowfall totals were expected in Vermont, New Hampshire and ME , which could see up to 18 inches (46) centimeters. Meanwhile, in the South, more than 10 million people face a risk of severe weather, including severe winds and tornadoes.

In a video posted to Twitter late Friday, Trump said both sides should "take the politics out of it" and "get to work" to "make a deal". While I am still reviewing the proposal it clearly addresses important elements of border security including improved drug detection technology, more border patrol agents, and increased physical barriers... "Wall!" at his arena rallies has swayed Trump before, including previous year, when the conservative news site Breitbart branded him "Amnesty Don" for considering a similar deal that would have provided $25 billion in wall funding for a path to legal status for those the DACA program was created to help.
