Australia and New Zealand banned Huawei equipment from the planned 5G networks of carriers in the countries and the head of British spy agency MI6 said last month the government needs to decide whether to ban the company.

Chinese telecom company Huawei is being tightlipped on reports one of its employees has been arrested by Polish authorities on suspicion of espionage.

"In accordance with the terms and conditions of Huawei's labour contract, we have made this decision because the incident in question has brought Huawei into disrepute", it said.

Huawei has been scrutinized for security concerns over its involvement in the development of 5G infrastructures. It's the world's biggest maker of telecommunications equipment but has been banned in the USA since 2012 over fears it's a security risk.

TVP reported that Huawei's office in Poland had been searched by the AWB, along with the offices of Orange Polska where the Polish national reportedly worked.

Beijing is "deeply concerned" over the arrest of a Chinese citizen in Poland on allegations of espionage, the country's Foreign Ministry said in a statement obtained by Sputnik.

Polish state TV reported both accused men had declared themselves innocent. Further indictments are expected, he said.

Both men's homes had also been searched during the investigation.

The Chinese national arrested is Weijing W., who according to Polish authorities also used the names Stanisław, Staszek, and was Huawei's sales director in Poland.

Mr Brudzinski said Poland wanted to continue cooperating with China but that a discussion was needed on whether to exclude Huawei from some markets. The resume said he received a bachelor's degree in 2004 from the Beijing University of Foreign Studies. According to Reuters, the police had also raided the officers of Orange Polska, where the Polish national works.

In addition to this, Huawei have come under fire from authorities in Norway, Germany, the United States, the UK, Australia and New Zealand, with several countries outright banning the use of their devices or equipment used in 5G mobile networks.

The executive, Scott Bradley, disclosed in a post on LinkedIn that he has resigned as the senior vice president of the corporate affairs at Huawei Canada, but did not disclose the specific reasons.
