These diet changes slash risk of premature death by nearly a third

At 6 grams each pears have some of the highest fiber content in the fruit family. Eat them raw in salads or poached in wine or pomegranate juice for dessert High fibre diets make for healthier lives

A new study now finds that people who eat diets that have higher fibre content have lower risk of death and chronic diseases such as stroke or cancer.

In this study, the researchers have found out that the intakes of fiber will lead to the reduced incidence of the diseases as well as it helps in reducing the body weight and total cholesterol.

The study, which will make for hard reading for food manufacturers making low-carb products, said that fibre in "good" carbohydrates such as wholegrain bread, cereal, pasta and oats has a protective effect.

The team was commissioned by the World Health Organization to inform future fibre intake recommendations.

Fellow Dems Chastise Ocasio-Cortez: ‘She Doesn’t Understand How the Place Works’
Lieberman added in the interview the Democrats will lose voters in the long term if Ocasio-Cortez's ideas are endorsed. Congresswoman and Westchester County high school graduate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is embroiled in a new controversy.

Corresponding author Professor Jim Mann, of the University of Otago, New Zealand, said: "Previous reviews and meta-analyses have usually examined a single indicator of carbohydrate quality and a limited number of diseases so it has not been possible to establish which foods to recommend for protecting against a range of conditions".

The data suggested that consuming 25-29 grams each day was adequate but higher intakes of dietary fibre could provide even greater protection.

The review found that people should be eating at least 25g to 29g of fibre a day, with indications that over 30g is better still.

Protection against stroke and breast cancer also rose.

IDF Chief Says Israel Struck Syria Without 'Asking for Credit'
The last Israeli attack reported by Syrian state media was on 25 December, when a missile attack wounded three Syrian soldiers. Russian Federation announced it had delivered the S-300 air defense system to Syria in October.

Most Britons consume less than 20g of dietary fibre per day. To meet the recommended daily intake of fiber, the U.S. Food and Drug Authority suggests eating more fruits and vegetables and switching from refined to whole grains of commonly consumed foods such as bread, rice, pasta.

The researchers only included studies with healthy participants, so the findings can not be applied to people with existing chronic diseases. They explained that foods with a low glycemic index or low glycemic load may also contain added sugars, saturated fats, and sodium which could account for the health benefits of this type of diet being less clear.

"We've known for a long time that eating foods high in fiber is good for us and helps to aid digestion", wrote Stokes-Lampard, who was not involved in the new analysis, "so it's reassuring to see this high-quality research showing how far-reaching these benefits may be for our long-term health and wellbeing, and confirming why it's so important to include these foods in our diet". "This reduces incidence risk and mortality from a broad range of important diseases", Mann said. Rich sources of dietary fibre include whole grains, pulses, vegetables and fruit. They also favorably influence the lipid as well as glucose levels.
