Trump actively hid info on meetings with Putin from top officials

Where the investigations into U.S. President Donald Trump stand Trump actively hid info on meetings with Putin from top officials

President Donald Trump reportedly hid details of conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin from his own administration officials according to a new bombshell Washington Post report.

The constraints that Trump imposed are part of a broader pattern by the president of shielding his communications with Putin from public scrutiny and preventing even high-ranking officials in his own administration from fully knowing what he has told one of the United States' main adversaries.

The Trump administration rejected the report, saying Tillerson in 2017 "gave a fulsome readout of the meeting immediately afterwards to other U.S. officials in a private setting, as well as a readout to the press". The secrecy "is not only unusual by historical standards, it is outrageous", says Strobe Talbot, former deputy secretary of state under Bill Clinton.

Other topics include whether Trump's business interests have impacted his foreign policy, his love affair with Kim Jong-un, murdered Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Trump family ties to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman and Trump's Twitter announcement about withdrawing from Syria.

"I call him "Lying James Comey" - he did a bad job as Federal Bureau of Investigation director", Trump told Pirro. 'Anybody could have listened to that meeting, it is open for grabs. You sit with the president of various countries, I do it with all countries.

The president directly responded to the accusations during an interview with Fox News host Jeanine Pirro, pledging transparency about his encounters with Putin, specifically their meeting in Helsinki last summer.

Lawyer: R. Kelly denies all sexual misconduct allegations
More recently, many said he runs a hidden "sex cult" of women manipulated and abused to stay away from the outside world and under his control.

"Over time it got harder and harder, I think, because of a sense from Trump himself that the leaks of the call transcripts were harmful to him", said a former administration official.

Trump tweeted early on Saturday that the report showed that the FBI leadership "opened up an investigation on me, for no reason & with no proof" after he had fired Comey.

Rep. Eliot Engel (D-NY), the chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, told The New Yorker that his first act will be to create a subcommittee tasked with investigating Trump.

The White House press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, called the Times report "absurd" and said Comey was sacked for being "a disgraced partisan hack".

Former FBI director James Comey testifies before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, on June 8, 2017.

Trump said that it was "the most insulting article I've ever had written [about me]" on Saturday, and asserted that he has been "tougher on Russian Federation than anybody else, any other - probably any other president period".

Trump has repeatedly denied any collusion.

US Special Counsel Robert Mueller took over the investigation into Mr Trump days after the FBI opened it, as he examined allegations of Russian election interference, the Times reported.

The Times says it's unclear whether Mueller is still pursuing the counterintelligence angle.

Mueller has indicted 33 people in the probe and convicted some of the president's close associates.

Trump's ex-national security adviser, Michael Flynn, pleaded guilty to lying to investigators about his Moscow ties.

"Cohen, who will testify in Congress on February 7, insists that he has never been to Prague, but added in a tweet: "#Mueller knows everything!"
