When the Prime Minister made a decision to delay the meaningful vote on her Brexit deal by a month because she was facing a historic defeat, with more than 100 Tories ready to vote it down, she pledged to gain legally binding assurances from the EU.

The government published pledges offering Northern Ireland a "strong voice and role in any decision to bring the backstop into effect".
The suggestions did little to win over the DUP. Wilson, one of 10 DUP lawmakers propping up May's minority government, described her deal as "ruinous".
