World's oldest man Masazo Nonaka, reportedly died peacefully in his sleep at his home, a hot springs hotel on the northern main island of Hokkaido, Japan, at the age of 113.

Nonaka died in the early morning hours of January 20 at his home-an inn on Japan's northern island of Hokkaido run by his family for four generations.

"We feel shocked at the loss of this big figure".

Last year Guinness officially recognized Nomaka as the world's oldest man after the death of Spaniard Francisco Nunez Olivera.

Global tensions high ahead of Davos summit, warns World Economic Forum
In 2018, the global economy slowed more than most forecasters had been predicting and stock markets around the world posted their worst year in a decade.

Nonaka's family noticed on Sunday morning that he wasn't breathing.

Nonaka was born on July 25, 1905, 42 days before the Russo-Japanese War ended with the Treaty of Portsmouth, mediated by Theodore Roosevelt.

The family said he died peacefully from natural causes.

Nonaka lived at home in Ashoro with his family. He enjoyed eating something sweet after a meal, watching TV, reading newspapers and soaking in the hot spring bath once a week in recent years, according to his family. He regularly soaked in the springs and also enjoyed eating candies - especially cakes.

Morata has struggled at Chelsea since his arrival in 2017, failing to settle under either Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri . You need to play a few games in a row to be competitive, so that's what's a bit hard in this last month.

Nonaka had outlived all of his siblings as well as two of the five children he had with his wife, who died in 1992.

In retirement, he enjoyed watching sumo wrestling on TV and eating candies, according to local media.

According to Guinness, the oldest person ever to have lived is Jeanne Calment, a French woman, who died in 1997 at the age of 122 years and 164 days.
